Support Us

We have received generous support from both business and the public since our inception. Without this it could not have grown into the very successful and popular museum we have today. There is still much we would like to do, so would be very grateful for continued support. Listed below are ways in which you can help. If you have any queries, telephone between 10.00 AM & 3.30 PM on week days or use this  Contact Form .

Become a Member

Becoming a member of the Redland Museum will allow you to join a group of people dedicated to caring and maintaining the history and culture of the Redlands. You will be entitled to visit the Museum at no cost during opening hours and the possibility of a welcoming cup of tea or coffee is very real. Every year the Museum hosts a Christmas Party that is attended by members, Redland Shire Councillors, Redland Shire Council officers, museum industry members, and local community and business leaders. The Museum holds regular Exhibition openings and other functions which all members are invited to attend. Most importantly you will know that your membership assists the Museum in carrying out its aims and objectives. Contact the Museum for membership options.

Become a Volunteer

While there is no requirement for members to become volunteers, all members interested in doing so are very welcome. Volunteers play a major part in many tasks undertaken by the museum. These can include guiding school groups around the Museum, cataloguing objects, contributing to the fundraising craft stalls, Museum reception on weekends and public holidays, and carrying out conservation work on the objects. In some cases we have teams of volunteers working on particular projects and this is considered beneficial as volunteers enjoy the social aspect of volunteering as well as the satisfaction of a job well done. Volunteers can choose when they would like to work and how many hours or days a week.  If you are signing up as a new member, please indicate on you application that you are interested in being a volunteer.  If you are already a member, just phone the museum and request to become a volunteer.

Donate to Collection

We are a Social History museum and welcome the donation of significant objects from bygone days. The process for offering a donation to the musem is simple.  Download the Object Donation Proposal Form (or concact us for a copy) complete the form and return it to the Museum along with photos of the object. Before an object is taken into our collection, it is considered by an Accession Meeting where it has to meet certain criteria. An important consideration is the history or provenance that goes with the object, please complete the donation form with as much history as you can about the object.  Further details are available on the following link.
