Sugar Industry in the Redlands

Bob Wearne, a chemical engineer joined CSR Sugar Mill Division and spent 27 years in production, research and management at 7 sugar mills in Fiji and Queensland. His research project the “The Rise and Fall of Sugar Plantations in the Redlands, 1860 to 1900” married his post grad skills in historical research and his career in sugar manufacturing. This presentation is about the importance of sugar production in the Redlands.
